William Bowen Rogers, 1934 - 2010

Tuesday 27 July 2010 at 8:47 pm William Bowen Rogers (my dad) past away unexpectedly from a stroke, Sunday, July 25, 2010.

I hope visitors to this site were fortunate enough to experience his gentle humor and unique creative genius. I'll miss our frustrating non-linear conversations, his wacky "million dollar" ideas, golf course antics, tales of H.S. football glory, mischievous smile, etc.

This website was launched in 2008 and like many of his paintings, never completed (my fault). In the last few months he managed to put some of his artwork online. It can be viewed at http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/2-william-rogers.html.

Please feel free to post comments here or at Legacy.com. In order to facilitate postings here, I am unable to screen out spam effectively, so I apologize if something untoward is overlooked.

A few ago, my dad celebrated his 76th birthday with a group of dear fraternity friends, and this previous weekend with his wife, Cheryl, biological son (me), daughter (Ann), their spouses (Heather and Robert respectively), and 21 month-old granddaughter, Sarah Finley Rogers. We feel so lucky we were able to enjoy some of his last days with us, a true gift.

I told my sister that when someone dies it's like they left for vacation and never returned. He's lucky to be on vacation now but we have to miss him.
